Wall Street jumped on Thursday to new highs as traders cheered Fed’s decision to lower interest rates by 50 bps. S&P 500, Dow Jones and Nasdaq Composite gained 1.7%/ 1.3%/ 2.5% respectively on the day.
Traders also got some validation that the Fed was engineering a soft landing for the economy as latest weekly jobless claims fell by 12,000 to 219,000, which was far below estimates.
